Performing Arts Centre

Awaiting funding, the Ku-rin-gai Performing Arts Centre is a proposed regional theatre complex on Sydney's North Shore, fronting the Ku-rin-gai Chase National Park.  A well vegetated zone between the site and the National Park boundary consists of large scale Eucalypt vegetation, representing the transition between suburbia and nature whilst providing critically important scale and spectacularly defined edges.

Two main volumes are proposed, formed by intersecting solid and transparent wedged shapes housing performance, gallery and restaurant spaces – all of which integrate with the existing heritage listed binny and adjacent high school.
